摘要: New silicone derivatives that generate no toxic gas during combustion have been developed for use as flame retardants in the aromatic thermoplastics (polycarbonate and its derivatives, acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene, polystyrene) used many electronic devices. A special with a branched chain structure, phenyl-rich mixture of phenyl methyl groups at terminals was found to be effective retarding these plastics, particularly so polycarbonate (PC) derivatives. These shown themselves perfect replacement halogen compounds, which claimed potential environmental hazard when materials are subjected combustion. Further, adding PC does not adversely affect important other properties, such strength, moldability heat resistance; impact strength is fact better than containing bromine compound retardant. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
