摘要: Abstract We present an algorithm for the numerical calculation of static and dynamic behavior nematic cells. Based on tensorial description alignment, our preserves symmetry, i.e. equivalence n -n which is essential not only occurrence disclinations but also transition between topologically different aligned states. specifically take usual operating mode electrooptical devices—a prescribed voltage rather than a field strength—into account. Here, π-cell examined by computer simulation. The results, compared to experimental data, indicate reliability with respect Frank elasticity. relaxation times are in good agreement experiment as long backflow negligible. In addition, we predict conditions two-frequency control π-cell, has yet been realized experiments.
