Case-based reasoning as a tool for materials selection

摘要: Abstract Material properties of metals, especially steels, can be influenced and varied by different heat treatments. The objective a treatment is usually to achieve high level performance at minimum cost. Therefore, it essential for designer select material process that together will ensure this objective. In the presented study case-based reasoning (CBR) used as tool selection from database containing number steels processes. CBR technique has great potential other tasks in mechanical design well. It suitable searching partially structured databases with information about technical solutions applied company, failure analysis, etc.
