摘要: Tourette Syndrome (TS) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterised by chronic motor and vocal tics, which fluctuate over time. The molecular genetics of TS supported genetic epidemiology studies, strongly suggest the presence susceptibility genes for TS. Epidemiologic family, segregation linkage as well candidate gene have yielded limited specific results to date, however, pathophysiology models that support approach in are emerging. Whole-genome approaches, including genome-wide association studies (GWAS) whole-genome sequencing, may yield more definitive genomic findings. Uncovering biological substrate will spur development novel, precisely targeted, treatments this disabling disorder.
