摘要: Sustainable agricultural practices increasingly demand novel, environmentally friendly compounds which induce plant immunity against pathogens. Stimulating using seaweed extracts is a highly viable strategy, as these formulations contain many bio-elicitors (phyco-elicitors) can significantly boost natural immunity. Certain bioactive elicitors present in multitude of seaweeds (both commercially available and bench-scale laboratory formulations) activate pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) due to their structural similarity (i.e., analogous structure) with pathogen-derived molecules. This achieved via the priming and/or elicitation defense responses induced systemic resistance (ISR) acquired (SAR) pathways. Knowledge accumulated over past few decades reviewed here, aiming explain why certain seaweed-derived bioactives have such tremendous potential elicit considerable economic significance, particularly increasing biotic stress impacts climate change concomitant move sustainable agriculture away from synthetic chemistry environmental damage. Various display remarkably different modes action(s) manipulate when applied. review focuses on both similarities differences amongst actions several extracts, well individual components. Novel biotechnological approaches for development new commercial products crop protection, manner, are also suggested.
