摘要: Background: Previous reports into the role of (CAG)n repeat lengths in androgen receptor (AR) gene indicate that these may play an important part development and progression breast cancer, however, knowledge regarding benign lesions is limited. Patients Methods: PCR-based GeneScan analysis was used to investigate length at exon 1 AR 59 (27 fibroadenomas, 18 atypical hyperplasias, 14 hyperplasias without atypia) 54 ductal carcinomas. Seventy-two cancer-free women were as a control group. In addition, repeats evaluated for presence loss heterozygosity (LOH) microsatellite instability (MSI) subset samples atypia 22 carcinomas). Results: Shorter strongly correlated with (p=0.0209) carcinomas (p<0.0001). LOH found 1/12 4/20 informative cases carcinomas, respectively. Three patients carcinoma who had previously presented hyperplasia showed reduction their Conclusion: Short (≤20) polymorphisms are associated
