摘要: A large scale northern Prairies heat flow anomaly (NPHFA) extends from north-eastern British Columbia and Alberta to the southern Northwestern Territories between Precambrian shield (Slave Province) Cordillera (Mackenzie Fold Belt). The aerial of (order magnitude 102 km) is order lithospheric thickness. In parts basin close areas high topographic elevation, including Rocky Mountains Mackenzie Belt, significantly reduced by downward cross-formational fluid flow. position in central part offset with respect major carbonate reef, carrying fluids north eastward. It hypothesised that regional related increased mantle upflow under this region. NPHFA aligned other anomalies along longitude 120 ° west ±5 °. Anomalous associated an western westwardly drifting continent, most probable explanation observed thermal regime margin North American Craton Canada.
