摘要: Induction of cytosolic aspartate aminotransferase (cAspAT) was observed in rat liver on administration a high-protein diet, or glucagon and during fasting. The enzyme activity the rats given 80% protein diet injection starvation increased to 2- 2.4-fold that maintained 20% with about 2-fold increases levels hybridizable cAspAT mRNA, measured by blot analysis using cloned cDNA as probe. No increase detected kidney, heart, brain, skeletal muscle. mitochondrial (mAspAT) did not increase. when glucose metabolism tended toward gluconeogenesis. physiological function induction is considered be supply oxaloacetate substrate for phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (PEPCK) [EC 4.1.1.32]
