摘要: Resonant electron oscillations on the surface of noble metal nanoparticles (Au, Ag, Cu) create plasmon resonance (SPR) that greatly enhances absorption and Rayleigh (Mie) scattering light by these particles. By adjusting size shape particles from spheres to rods, SPR can be tuned visible near-infrared region (NIR) where biologic tissues are relatively transparent. Further, gold nanorods enhance Raman adsorbed molecules. These unique properties make especially attractive as optical sensors for biological medical applications.
