摘要: Al-Si alloys are widely used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Porosity is considered to be a major defect these cast alloys. In this study, effect of strontium (Sr) modification on porosity formation intermetallic quantified using X-ray tomography. Quantitative information such as average pore size, shape, distribution particle size were evaluated for Sr modified unmodified Results show that addition 400 ppm increases by 10% compared alloy. Further, equivalent diameter pores from 2 μm 18 A greater number larger found alloy, whereas small sized was significantly higher The results Al-Si-Sr intermetallics with an 4.5 μm. It can hypothesised particles act heterogeneous sites nucleation significant further growth
