Effect of thermal treatment on luminescence and VUV-to-visible conversion in oxyfluoride glass singly doped with praseodymium and thulium

摘要: Abstract Oxyfluoride glasses with composition 50GeO 2 –(50 −  x )PbO– PbF (  ⩽ 15 mol%) containing praseodymium or thulium were melted from commercial raw materials in normal atmosphere. Glass samples then thermally treated order to achieve controlled precipitation of . The effect thermal treatment on the relaxation excited levels within 4f n configurations and is found be qualitatively similar. Non-exponential decay curves luminescence as-melted become nearly exponential corresponding longer lifetimes samples. Substantially different behavior respect those has been upon excitation 50–300 nm spectral region. Efficient VUV-excited visible emission recorded both glass Pr 3+ No VUV glass-ceramics thulium.
