摘要: In order to expand upon the limited literature estimating quantity and quality of worldwide research production in field microbiology, a bibliometric analysis was conducted for period 1995–2003 using PubMed Journal Citation Reports databases. By searching “microbiology” category database, total 74 journals were identified that also included PubMed. From these journals, 89,527 articles analysis, data on country which originated available 88,456 (98.8%) them. The individual countries separated into nine world regions. terms studied, Western Europe exceeded all other regions, with USA ranking second. mean impact factor highest at 3.4, while it 2.8 2.4 rest combined. productivity per unit expenditure development higher Canada than USA. three regions increased most Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe.
