摘要: We quantitatively examined the possible damage to growth and cell division ability of Escherichia coli caused by 1064-nm optical trapping. Using synchronous behavior two sister E. cells, interdivision times between those one which was trapped tweezers, other not irradiated, were compared using an on-chip single cultivation system. Cell stopped during trapping period, even with smallest irradiated power on cells. Moreover, cell's period proportional total energy (work) cell, i.e., irradiation time multiplied power. The more easily affected a smaller energy, 0.36 J, 30% than that adversely growth, 0.54 J. results indicate can be estimated from applied furthermore, use for manipulating cells might cause mechanisms, at wavelengths under 1064 nm, if is excessive.
