摘要: OBJECTIVES The goal of this study was to examine the prevalence seasonal affective disorder among 1,116 active duty men and 191 women stationed at an Army installation in Alaska. METHOD Prevalence estimates (SAD) were calculated two different ways. first based on "classic" criteria which only January February are regarded as winter months. second "arctic" November December included RESULTS classic SAD 5.2% for 8.9% women. arctic 6.5% 13.1% Subjects who met but not self-reported significantly more current depression than those criteria. CONCLUSION question whether individuals meeting have a severe form may be area worth exploring.
