摘要: Abstract The energy absorption performance of right circular frusta subjected to dynamic axial load is studied and compared with the results quasi-static tests. Frusta different geometric ratios end constraints were axially crushed using a drop hammer at initial velocities in range 2–5 m/s. effect heat treatment on collapse behaviour also investigated. experimental observations indicate that effects qualitatively similar those observed under testing. Due inertia effects, absolute values absorbed by higher loads than loads. It has been established constraining enhances their capacity static loading particularly top (smaller diameter). optimum parameters for maximum are identified when residual stresses strain hardening characteristics, arising from spinning frusta, removed.
