摘要: A new architecture for a miniaturized-element frequency selective surface (MEFSS) capable of providing third-order bandpass response is presented and experimentally verified. The proposed MEFSS consists three metal layers separated from one another by two dielectric substrates. exterior are nonresonant inductive wire grids, while the center layer hybrid resonator composed an I-shaped resonator. substrates act as inductively coupled series resonators sandwiching in middle. This results filter with that can also provide out-of-band transmission null at higher than main passband. An equivalent-circuit-based synthesis procedure this letter allows designing FSS its desired system-level performance indicators (e.g., operation, bandwidth, etc.). validity design verified presenting example conducting full-wave electromagnetic simulations. Finally, experimental proof-of-concept demonstration performed characterizing unit cell designed to operate WR-112 waveguide environment.
