摘要: Objective: A traditional herb Solanum nigrum L. is well known for the management of different ailments including hepatic disorders. The objective our study to identify antioxidant metabolites and bioactive fraction S. explore their hepatoprotective potential. Materials Methods: aerial parts (leaves berries) were extracted with hydroethanol- polarity-based fractionations performed. Total phenolic (TP), flavonoid content, thin-layer chromatography (TLC) fingerprints extracts carried out quality control determination compounds present in them. TLC-based bioautographic assay was metabolites. activity a steroidal glycoalkaloid-enriched berries investigated D-galactosamine (D-GalN)-induced fibrosis. Hepatic damage evaluated by assessing enzymatic activities oxidative markers serum liver homogenate histological liver. Results: n-butanol (berries) found have highest value TP flavonoids. treatment rats 250 mg/kg crude extract as 16 25 n- butanol 10 days able normalize biochemical along antioxidative D-GalN treated hepatotoxic rats. histopathological studies revealed that also restored fibrosis toward normal level. Conclusion: from showed vitro vivo can be explored after further investigations potent phytopharmaceuticals
