摘要: • Botulin type A was injected into the eyelids of adult monkeys, and structural alterations in orbicularis oculi muscle were evaluated after survival times 7 to 84 days. The most profound change seen at both light- electron-microscopic levels nonselective atrophy virtually all fibers. Moreover, botulin-induced blockade neuromuscular transmission nonspecific producing three fiber types. Muscle changes appeared be reversible, with no apparent long-term consequences. While sprouting preterminal axons noted botulin-treated muscle, formation collateral sprouts did not appear widespread. These contrast type-specific, induced extraocular by botulin treatment. However, this differential response may attributed very clear differences composition motor control mechanisms between eyelid groups. efficacy treatments for strabismus focal dystonia then directly related anatomic functional properties systems muscle.
