摘要: A method and apparatus for efficiently distinguishing between different types of input signals simulated by a pointing device coupled to multi-tasking computer system. The may be stylus, finger or other that moves across the surface touch screen like generate positional information. Depending on response delay timer, motion is recognized software application programs as information either from mouse gesture handwriting mode. If cessation detected with predetermined time-delay period, system accepts in mouse-emulating within timer reset. Thus, overhead associated managing can reduced because periodically reset need not after each movement prior art. periodic resetting based intervals n points generated moving device, real-time units relative given point device.
