摘要: Summary The changing extent of headwater streamflow is monitored in four catchments a chalk region southern England. An annual pattern migration stream heads over several kilometres described, together with short-lived extensions associated large runoff events. Volume and frequency are differing degrees boulder clay cover it suggested that key process lateral flow via field drainage systems. This holds implications for groundwater recharge as well surface streamflow. These mechanisms may be expected to occur many areas agriculturally-improved heavy soils on chalk.
