摘要: Abstract Purple isotropic particles replacing olivine in black veins cutting the Tenham meteorite prove to be polycrystalline aggregates of (Mg,Fe)2SiO4 spinel (ringwoodite) with properties conforming those synthetic equivalents. Mineralogical evidence for pressure gradients near indicates that these structures and their enclosed ringwoodite have been formed by interaction between irregular shock waves passing through chondrite parent body after a major cosmic impact. Ringwoodite is probably preserved extremely rapid post-shock cooling.
