Changes in soil organic carbon stock as an effect of land use system in Gondia district of Maharashtra

摘要: Gondia district of Maharashtra has 35.05% its area covered with forest. Considerable forest been brought under paddy cultivation in the over time and hence it provides scope for assessing soil carbon stock land to converted use systems. The present study was aimed assess impact management practices on properties consequently quality. Transects selected were Goregaon, Aamgaon Salekasa uses included Forest, Paddy more than 10 years, 50 years 100 cultivation. Replicated samples collected from profiles four land-use types all transects. major production related constraints soils developed mixed alluvium acidity inadequacy nutrient stock. Forest considered as “Control” used reference (base level) comparative C-stock C-sequestration potentials. Recently forestland (i.e. >10 years) resulted highest loss organic (SOC) followed by growing years. Estimated at 0–30 cm depth varied between 13.5 50.2 tonns/ha forest, 8.2 9.5 cultivated area, 12.3 12.6 11.6 13.3 which is being lowest year
