摘要: Despite the known genetic permeability among wolf-like canids, there is currently no evidence of gene flow between recently acknowledged African wolf (Canis lupaster) and domestic dogs (C. lupus familiaris). We genotyped wolves across their range, together with dogs and ‘reference’ grey (C. l. lupus; not occurring in Africa). Northwestern showed (1) greatest diversity as observed from microsatellite loci mitochondrial + Y-chromosome markers, (2) possible signs past admixture wolves. detected two zones hybridization wolves, northwestern Senegal central Ethiopia. Hybrids were intermediary nuclear space separating (and wolves), majority assigned to STRUCTURE. mitochondrial DNA haplotypes suggesting directionality male female The roaming feral shepherds’ degraded habitats occupied by may have promoted hybridization. Our results provide that, subsequent hybrid origin C. lupaster, genome still subject lupus descendants. This could lead dilution endemic lineages, such eastern Africa, but also imply disease prevalence competition for resources dogs. study also is first show a significant level differentiation (ΦST FST) North West Wider screening range should depict more accurately population dynamics potential stakes related
