摘要: The present study aimed to test the hypothesis that cues associated with drug-taking behavior become extra strong motivators of compared paired non-drug reinforcers. In experiment 1, rats were trained lever press for intravenous cocaine infusions and grain pellets. Each reinforcer was a distinct audiovisual cue. When allowed choose between these alternatives, chose on ~70-80 percent trials. However, after extinguishing pressing, reintroduction press-contingent during cue-induced reinstatement generated more seeking than (also observed 3- 8-week follow-up tests). To examine whether same pattern results would occur two reinforcers, 2 replicated 1 using sucrose as reinforcement alternatives. Rats over choice trials also responded cue test. disconnect primary conditioned reinforcements in but not suggests drug may exceptionally seeking. These are consistent cue-focused theories addiction offer insight into persistent cue-driven drug-seeking addiction.
