摘要: Abstract 3-(3-indoyl)-propyl methacrylate (IPM) was prepared and subsequently copolymerized with methylmethacrylate (MMA) in order to obtain a poly-(methyl methacrylate) containing fluorescent indolic groups (PMMI). isobutyrate (IPI), also synthetized as model compound. Characterization of the polymer gave molecular weight 200,000 mean average number 2.5 units per chain. The compound showed same absorption spectra, maximum at 280 nm. emission spectra for both compounds were strongly dependent on solvent, shift wavelengths towards red polar solvents. In given emit wavelength, only exception this observed when 1-propanol employed solvent. This attributed “chain effect” exerted by folded macromolecule, shifting wavelength toward values corresponding polarities lower than bulk solution. solvent mixtures, shifts can be considered indicative probe environment, reflecting sort preferential adsorption component highest thermodynamic power onto macromolecular chains. Finally, quenching experiments performed pure solvents showing that deactivation process is diffusion-controlled. found could indicate quencher finds certain resistance penetrate coil, which might due steric effects or higher local viscosity within coil.
