摘要: Issues in the national school choice debate are examined this paper. Proponents of have included last two Republican Presidents, Education Commission States, and many state governors business community leaders. Gallup polls conducted during 1989-91 indicate that (among public schools) is a popular concept among parents. Opponents fear lack government commitment for funding, inequitable creation unequal schools. They also cite research findings indicating parental often based on convenience rather than academic opportunities. An analysis articles educational journals from 1982-91 ("Readers' Guide to Periodical Literature" ERIC) shows extent which has become an issue within community. The proliferation journal coverage raises question why topic receives so much continued attention if there problems.
