摘要: Objective: The present study was undertaken to investigate the antidiabetic potential of leaves Ipomoea batatas . Methods: crude powder, 95% ethanolic, 50% ethanolic and aqueous extracts were administered normoglycemic streptozotocin (STZ)-induced diabetic rats in a single dose study. chloroform, butanol fractions extract investigated for their antihyperglycemic on STZ-induced rats. Multiple an fraction also done STZ neonatal Further, measured against alpha glucosidase aldose reductase enzymes, glucose uptake L6 myotubes. Results: showed significant lowering postprandial hyperglycemia post sucrose loaded normal significantly declined blood level at 100 mg/kg b. w comparison with chloroform lowered multiple found improved percent glycated hemoglobin (%HbA1c), fasting glucose, oral tolerance (OGTT), serum insulin, lipid profile, liver kidney parameters Marked improvement OGTT insulin levels In vitro study, I. increased myotubes inhibits α-glucosidase enzymes. Conclusion: demonstrated activity by promoting secretion, enzyme inhibition.
