摘要: Following our report on onchocherciasis among the Ikyov and Nanev clans, we initiated a survey of prevalence distribution onchocerciasis in some villages Benue State, Nigeria. Out 1,558 inhabitants (619 males 608 females) examined, 1,227 (78.8%) were found to carry microfilariae (mf) Onchocerca volvulus (mean density: about 20/skin snip). The presence number mf from right left iliac crests comparable. findings indicate that clinical manifestations remain vital indices for rapid prospection.
