摘要: This article examines the extent and manner to which evaluations of flood-related precautions are affected by an individual's motivation perception context. It argues that relationship between risk flood preparedness can be fruitfully specified in terms vulnerability efficacy if these concepts put into perspective prevention-focused motivation. was empirically examined a communication experiment delta area Netherlands (n = 1,887). Prevention-focused induced contextualized information. The results showed individuals were more sensitive relevance potential for satisfying their needs context they found themselves in. included, but not limited to, fear reduction. Due heterogeneity residents, reflected individual differences intensity selectivity precautionary processes. Four types persons could distinguished according evaluation measures: high-scoring minority, two selective types, low-scoring minority.
