摘要: To discover candidate genes in the pathogenesis of congenital hydrocephalus, gene arrays were utilized to analyze transcripts from midbrain region 5-day-old H-Tx rats; these animals develop hydrocephalus due closure their cerebral aqueduct between embryonic day 18 and post-natal 5. Of 15,924 assayed, we detected 47 differentially expressed representing 23 24 sequence tags (ESTs); 17 (7 10 ESTs) upregulated 30 (16 14 downregulated hydrocephalic relative control non-hydrocephalic animals. Seven genes, Cck, Nfix, Lgals3, Gsta1, Xdh, Tnf, Tfpi-2, can be linked hydrocephalus. In addition, that displayed altered expression our study are not currently known associated with presence or development These results indicate a relatively few number found this model. This is first experiment its kind identify changes model rodent occurring locally area surrounding aqueduct. Studies now needed examine cognate proteins delineate role
