Volume hologram recording and charge transfer process in Bi12SiO20 and Bi12GeO20

摘要: Bi12SiO20 and Bi12GeO20 are photoconductive electro‐optic crystals in which hologram recording is performed using the photorefractive effect; their sensitivity optical quality comparable with high‐resolution photographic plate. Hologram formation erasure analyzed terms of a simple two‐level charge transfer model. The photocarrier’s displacement length, fringe spacing nearly unity quantum efficiency, allows attainment ultimate photosensitivity. trapping centers concentration being much smaller than absorption concentration, saturation time diffraction efficiency found limited only by trap‐filling mechanism.
