摘要: Shaped integrated lens antennas (ILAs) are attractive for beam-shaping applications at millimeter waves and specific synthesis methodologies have been proposed their design. The purpose of this paper is two-fold. First, we focus on the particularities associated with geometrical optics/physical optics (GO/PO) analysis numerically-specified arbitrarily-shaped ILAs, namely (i) interpolation procedures generic 3-D ILAs (ii) computation surface curvature parameters. In particular, new closed-form expressions principal radii a curved interface established. Second, two procedures, previously implemented nearly axis-symmetric compared discussed numerically experimentally. To end, made from Teflon designed fabricated, starting same radiation specification 58.5 GHz (the amplitude template circularly-symmetric pencil beam). Both prototypes fed by 2 × elements microstrip antenna array. experimental results in satisfactory agreement simulations. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
