摘要: Abstract Purpose To assess the contribution of multiple risk factors for two congenital heart defects—hypoplastic left syndrome (HLHS) and tetralogy Fallot (TOF). Methods We used data from National Birth Defects Prevention Study (1997–2011) to estimate average adjusted population attributable fractions several recognized factors, including maternal prepregnancy overweight–obesity, pregestational diabetes, age, infant sex. Results There were 594 cases isolated simple HLHS, 971 TOF, 11,829 controls in analysis. Overall, 57.0% HLHS 37.0% TOF estimated be included our model. Among modifiable overweight–obesity accounted largest proportion (6.5%). age 35 years or older proportions (8.3% 4.3%, respectively). Conclusions Approximately half one-third models. Interventions targeting that can modified may help reduce development. Additional research into etiology reveal other might contribute primary prevention efforts.
