摘要: This article challenges the basis of new British government's conception social justice, and hence its policy programme. Under conditions globalised exchange, with an international division labour, national economy cannot meaningfully be represented as a ‘system co‐operation'; hence, principle reciprocity justify favouring claims fellow citizens over those foreigners. In these circumstances, restrained competition among members becomes more important element in mutuality than individual labour contribution. Distributive justice must located institutional context that provides such restraint, yet promotes participation for common good. requirement redirects attention towards basic income approach to redistributive issues, suggests alternative ethical justifications implementation.
