摘要: The identification of precise mutations is required for a complete understanding the underlying molecular and evolutionary mechanisms driving adaptive phenotypic change. Using plasticine models in field, we show that light coat color deer mice recently colonized light-colored soil Nebraska Sand Hills provides strong selective advantage against visually hunting predators. Color variation an admixed population suggests this phenotype composed multiple traits. We identified distinct regions within Agouti locus associated with each trait found only haplotypes values have evidence selection. Thus, local adaptation result independent selection on many single locus, specific effect phenotype, thereby minimizing pleiotropic consequences.
