摘要: In the study reported here authors examined relationships among 40 measures of undergraduate college and medical school performance competence in 18 care tasks during first year residency. A rating form was developed for to assess residents' competency sent directors residency programs entered by graduates a school. Stepwise multiple regression procedures were used analyze relationship between these ratings premedical identify best predictors 1982 1984 classes. Rasch model analysis indicated ease or difficulty each tasks. The results provide information that would allow educators use predict competencies. task "clinically evaluates research clinical data" most difficult graduates; is, they rated lower on it than any other task. Two groups significantly related residency: Part II examination National Board Medical Examiners (particularly scores obstetrics-gynecology, medicine, surgery, pediatrics subtests overall score) clerkships third-year medicine clerkship, fourth-year surgery clerkship).
