摘要: Cigarette smoking has been associated with sleep disturbances. However, little is known about how affects restless legs syndrome (RLS) and bruxism, two movement disorders sleep. From a nationwide survey of 2,019 Canadian adults, we estimated the prevalence to be 36%. Although there was no difference between smokers nonsmokers for RLS prevalence, almost twice as many (12%) (7%) were aware experiencing bruxism. The risk smoker suffering from nonsignificant. On other hand, grinding his or her teeth moderate (odds ratio = 1.9). Analysis laboratory findings revealed differences in motor periodic leg movements (PLMS) indices nonsmoking patients; after adjustment age, efficiency, latency, number awakenings, arousal index RLS/PLMS patients. Among those had more tooth-grinding episodes than did (35.0 vs. 7.0; p 0.056); none variables differentiated bruxism nonsmokers. It appears that cigarette does not influence RLS/PLMS, whereas tooth are concomitant moderate. Smoking significantly activity but noted
