Increased peripheral chemosensitivity via dopaminergic manipulation promotes respiratory instability in lambs

摘要: Abstract Periodic breathing (PB) is an instability of the respiratory control system believed to be mediated principally by peripheral chemoreceptors. We hypothesised that domperidone, a dopamine D2-receptor antagonist increases carotid body sensitivity O2 and CO2, would promote PB through increase in loop gain (LG) system. Domperidone significantly increased controller for oxygen (p  P C O 2 oscillations genesis lamb remained small. conclude domperidone LG via oxygen. Our study demonstrates quantitative understanding factors determine provides insight into cause PB.
