摘要: Abstract Barium profiles at the Atlantic stations of Geochemical Ocean Sections (GEOSECS) Program are remarkably similar to those for silicate and alkalinity. In nutrient depleted surface waters barium ranges between 36 44 nm kg−1: Arctic overflows have values 49 kg−1 Antarctic Bottom Water 100 106 kg−1. Both silica behave non-conservatively in basins with restricted circulation—the Greenland Norwegian seas Angola Basin—with anomalies up 1, 2 7 Ba kg−1, respectively. There is extensive situ production bottom Weddell Sea Basin, anomaly ranging 35 μm that 15 behaves uniquely only upper waters. At tropical temperate latitudes there commonly a minimum several nannomoles per kilogram uppermost thermocline, often associated high salinity core Sub-Tropical Underwater.
