摘要: Abstract The influence of gaps in degraded semi-arid steppe grassland northern China on the establishment Elymus dahuricus seeds sown for restoration purpose was investigated. There were seven treatments: no gap (control; CK), shoot and shoot + root each with diameters 10, 20 40 cm. Shoot formed by removing above- below-ground biomasses without restricting re-growth roots rhizomes back into gap, barriers root extension gaps. Seedling emergence, survival growth after 85 days seed sowing recorded. Increase size increased soil temperature moisture especially Survival seedlings followed a similar response pattern. It concluded that creating gaps, particularly larger would assist seedling to restore grassland.
