Oxidation of sulphides in tannery wastewater by use of manganese [IV] oxide

摘要: Oneofthemethodsofdetoxificationofsulphidesinwastewater� (WW)� oftanneriescouldbetheir� oxidationbyuseofMnO 2 . this material, as well the product of chemical reaction between sulphides andthismaterialisnotleftinWWanddoesnotpolluteit. TheamountofsulphidesandthepHofsolutionhaveaninfluenceonoxidationprocessduration;�it� islongerwhenthesulphideamountandpHintheWWishigher.�Optimaltemperatureofthetreatmentis� 30°c. oxidation goes faster if size Mno 2�� particlesdoesnotexceed�0.1�mm. ThepossibilitiesofrepeateduseofMnO �wereinvestigated.�ThestableefficiencyoftheMnO �couldbe� obtained by putting at first 0.5% 2� and additionally 0.05% �ofthesolutionmassforevery� followingcycleofthetreatment.
