Error-Free 10-Gb/s All-Optical Switching Based on a Bidirectional SRL With Miniaturized Retro-Reflector Cavity

摘要: The retro-reflector structure of semiconductor ring laser (RR-SRL) has been further miniaturized by redesigning its total-internal-reflection parabolic mirrors. SRL device with new RR structures is fabricated successfully and identical output properties have observed from the clockwise counterclockwise directions. static stably switching locking regions both main-mode first sidemode measured, which are ~ 5 6 GHz, respectively. fast speed 40 ps error-free 10-Gb/s all-optical achieved, confirms potential these SRLs for high-speed digital applications.
