摘要: Fifty-seven participants were selected to represent a wide range on the dimension of worry proneness. They monitored and listed their worrisome thoughts in diary for 7 days, rated uncontrollability each recorded episode. Content analysis revealed that 48% could be categorized as reflecting problem-solving process, 17% anticipation future negative outcomes, 11% “rumination,” 5% “palliative” “self blame.” The extent outcome or problem solving did not covary with severity. Higher trait proneness more frequent uncontrollable worrying during monitoring period associated rumination fewer reports successful solutions problems. results suggest consists largely attempted solving, one possible mechanism emergence pathological may failure bring satisfactory conclusion.
