摘要: :  Given the conflict with human interests that in many cases results extirpation of large carnivores, acceptance their reintroduction is a considerable challenge. By 1980s Mexican wolves (Canis lupus) were extinct wild. In 1998 population was reintroduced Blue Range Mountains New Mexico (U.S.A.). Efforts to reintroduce species have been ongoing since late 1980s. Four teams working independently identified 6 areas northern historic range wolves, where reintroductions could potentially be successful. Each team used different methods and criteria identify areas, which makes it difficult prioritize among these areas. Therefore, members worked together devise for use identifying priority They high, intermediate, low potential levels between humans. Areas had larger buffers (i.e., distance from settlement suitable wolves) around settlements than high- intermediate-conflict thus thought most appropriate first reintroduction. High-conflict contained habitat associated wolf presence, but closer activity. The occurred October 2011 one low-conflict identification represents crucial step process toward restoration carnivores. Choice area can determine whether successful or fails. A failure may preclude future efforts region country.
