摘要: Abstract: Implantable micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) offer a valuable means of sensing and actuation within the body at unprecedented levels miniaturisation internal functional complexity. However, function can be compromised by moisture uptake adverse interactions body. Consequently, packaging materials serve as barrier phases for controlling exchange solutes furnishing biocompatible surfaces MEMS devices. This chapter covers range coatings used to protect devices in Surface modification bioactive agent release are described strategies enhancing biocompatibility reducing surface fouling. The full mechanical, permeability chemical features involved extended survival implants contemporary materials.
