摘要: Abstract This paper outlines several aspects of the skeleto-muscular organization adult prothorax and cervix pertaining to ground pattern Diptera, which in turn leads characterization Neodiptera, a higher level dipterous taxon includes Brachycera bibionomorph Nematocera ( sensu Hennig). The monophyly Neodiptera is firmly supported by four modifications pronoto-cervical region. are shown be paraphyletic terms Brachycera. On more preliminary evidence it argued that fundamental dichotomy extant Diptera lies between ‘polyneuran’ clade Trichoceridae, Tipuloidea, Tanyderidae, Ptychopteridae an ‘oligoneuran’ all remaining groups. Preliminary for sister group relationship Blephariceroidea Culicomorpha also provided. possible adaptational significance cervical specializations discussed.
