摘要: Abstract The devastating 2011 Tohoku earthquake was observed by dense networks of geophysical instruments. A unified source model constructed through joint inversion teleseismic, strong motion, and geodetic datasets. result indicates that the consists three main ruptures. After small rupture in initial 50 s, first expanded at a slow speed 1.8 km/s to northeast east. second began 20 s later slowest 1.5 km/s became dominant with largest slip 36 m. third then played leading role, propagating southward 2.5 km/s. Only tsunami requires an extension fault shallow part between area Japan Trench, recovering tsunamigenic slips larger than 40 m. can explain features disaster earthquake.
