摘要: The application of fibers and other materials in asphalt mixes has been studied applied over the past five decades in order to improve pavement performance around world. This thesis highlights characteristics performance properties modified asphalt using a blend polypropylene and aramid fibers, main objective this study was evaluate the effect adding different fiber dosages on laboratory performance both binder mixture. laboratory study conducted sixteen blends the fibers, with various combinations polypropylene aramid, using tests as well hot mix tests. binder tests included: penetration, softing point, Brookfield viscosity mixture included dynamic modulus, indirect tensile strength. test results indicated that best viscosity - temperature susceptibility performance would be from three of polypropylene one dosage aramid, dynamic modulus test results also confirmed finding. Overall, almost every case, the addition resulted an increase stiffness regardless content. From strength results, had less post peak failure than fibers. fibers yielded better results This study has important implications for future design and the prospect optimal aramid fibers further research determine their long-term performance used real world applications.
