摘要: Abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) are an important source of morbidity and mortality in the U.S. worldwide. Treatment options limited, with open surgery or endovascular repair remaining the only curative treatments. Classical cardiovascular medications have generally failed to prevent significantly alter AAA formation progression. Therefore, there is a tremendous need for better therapeutic approaches. With increasing knowledge microRNA (miR) regulation in the context of disease, improving technical permitting alteration miRexpression levels vitro vivo, we offered glimpse into diagnostic possibilities of using miRs to treat vascular pathobiology. This review focuses on role aneurysmal disease abdominal aorta, summarizing recent publications regarding this topic, outlining known effects relevant formation, including miR-21 miR-29b. Despite being limited studies available, several other also display clear potential for disease process miR-26a, miR-17-92-cluster, miRs-221/222, miR-133 miR-146a. While have shown that can regulate activity interplay inflammatory cells, endothelial smooth muscle cells fibroblasts, all key elements leading much work remains be done.
