摘要: Aim The study aimed to determine the effectiveness and direct medical costs of early surgical closure anastomotic defect after a short course Endo-sponge® therapy presacral cavity, compared with conventional treatment in patients leakage ileal pouch-anal anastomosis (IPAA). Method Patients IPAA undergoing were prospectively followed consecutive cohort an leak treated by creation loop ileostomy occasional drainage cavity. Results A total 15 29 conventionally. In group, was continued for median 12 days [interquartile range (IQR) 7–15 days] 3 (IQR 2–4) changes. Secondary healing achieved all (n = 15) group 52% (n = 16) (P = 0.003). Closure 48 (25–103) days 70 49–175) days (P = 0.013). A functional pouch seen 93% 86% each group. There no significant difference cost. Conclusion Early period is highly effective treating without increasing cost.
